Football Recap: Calabasas Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Calabasas and Saugus squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Calabasas had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 28-27 to the Centurions. The Coyotes were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Calabasas' loss came despite strong showings from Kayne Miller and Dominik Hardy. Miller rushed for 199 yards and three scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, while Hardy threw for 188 yards and one TD while completing 78.6% of his passes. Hardy's passing game has become a key predictor of the Coyotes' success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Ty Hall had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 162 yards and four touchdowns for Saugus. With that strong performance, Hall is now averaging an impressive 101.5 rushing yards per game. Landon Lattimore also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.

Calabasas' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Saugus, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Calabasas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saugus, they have already played their next contest, a 21-7 defeat against Apple Valley on the 21st.
