Basketball Game Preview: Page Sand Devils vs. Tuba City Warriors

The Page Sand Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Tuba City Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Page has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Page is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since November 29th on Monday. They blew past Pinon 68-47. The Sand Devils pushed the score to 55-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Joseph Benally was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyree Stingley, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Page smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Tuba City lost to Snowflake on the road by a 49-34 margin on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lobos: they've now lost nine in a row.

Tuba City now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Page, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for Page against Tuba City in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 72-44 victory. Will Page repeat their success, or does Tuba City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
