Baseball Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. East Knox Bulldogs

The Crestview Cougars will square off against the East Knox Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Crestview took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Norwalk get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since March 25, 2024.

The result came thanks to Gavin Barker's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Crestview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Ringler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Knox). They put the hurt on Loudonville with a sharp 16-2 win on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have beaten the Redbirds the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Redbirds has come to flipping the script.

The victory got Crestview back to even at 1-1. As for East Knox, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
