Basketball Recap: Andrew Severns Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dillingham

Birchwood Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Dillingham on Friday. The Birchwood Christian Warriors took down the Dillingham Wolverines 46-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Birchwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Severns, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Severns is becoming a predictor of Birchwood Christian's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 4-2 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Karsten Wetzel, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Birchwood Christian now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Dillingham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Birchwood Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-50 defeat against Susitna Valley on the 14th. As for Dillingham, they have also already played their next game, a 79-19 victory against Alakanuk on the 15th.
