Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs
Willow Spring has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Willow Spring scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Fuquay - Varina 72-37 at home. With Willow Spring ahead 37-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Willow Spring's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brandon Solomon, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Grant Overman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southeast Raleigh came up short against Garner on Friday and fell 85-77. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (75), Southeast Raleigh still had to take the loss.
Willow Spring is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Willow Spring came up short against Southeast Raleigh when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 83-70. Can Willow Spring avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
