Baseball Recap: Schalmont's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Schalmont suffered their closest defeat since May 2, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Troy Flying Horses by a score of 8-6. The loss put an end to the Sabres' undefeated start to the season.

Austin Teetsel was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Luke Iovinella was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Schalmont fell to 1-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schalmont will square off against Cohoes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Averill Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
