Basketball Game Preview: Kankakee Valley Kougars vs. Benton Central Bison

The Kankakee Valley Kougars will take on the Benton Central Bison in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Kankakee Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 65-27 win over Michigan City. Winning may never get old, but the Kougars sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Jenna Walker and Camry Krueger were among the main playmakers for Kankakee Valley as the former went 7-for-13 to rack up 22 points and five boards and the latter posted 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Walker is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games she's played. Laurel Van Meter was another key player, putting up six points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Kankakee Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They are a perfect 8-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Benton Central really took it to Twin Lakes for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-31 victory. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Kankakee Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Benton Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
