Basketball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Ironwood Eagles 74-43. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Eagles are ranked 15th).

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Ironwood, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial has already played their next contest (against Kellis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ironwood will face off against Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ironwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Sunrise Mountain likes a good challenge.
