Baseball Recap: Ithaca Takes a Loss

Ithaca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Genesee Wildcats. If the Bear Cubs were looking for revenge after losing 14-4 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ithaca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Genesee, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ithaca will square off against Corning-Painted Post West at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Genesee, they will take on Cicero-North Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Northstars have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
