Basketball Recap: Sanger Triumphs

Sanger won the last time they faced Rio Mesa and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sanger Apaches narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rio Mesa Spartans 61-58. Given the Apaches' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Spartans are ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sanger's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Rio Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Sanger wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-55 victory against Ridgeview on the 11th. As for Rio Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-73 defeat against Santa Barbara on the 10th.
