Baseball Recap: Parkway South Patriots vs. Howell Vikings
Parkway South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Howell Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on Tuesday.
Parkway South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Horejes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jamison Lombardo was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Parkway South's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Howell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 24 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-2 record this season.
Parkway South will challenge Lafayette at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howell, they will square off against Christian Brothers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cadets' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
