Flag Football Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Westover's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-0 to the Sumter County Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd).

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Sumter County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Westover will challenge rival Baker County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sumter County is set to take on their familiar foe Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 5.8, the Trojans 1) so any points scored will be well earned.
