Softball Recap: Jurupa Hills Takes a Loss

Jurupa Hills came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Kaiser Cats, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 two weeks ago.

Jurupa Hills got a good showing from Juliana Sepulvida, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Sepulvida has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jurupa Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylin Olguin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Isabela Torres was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Jurupa Hills now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Kaiser, their record now sits at 7-13.

Coming up, Jurupa Hills will square off against Summit at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the SkyHawks have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Kaiser, they will challenge Rialto at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.61 runs per game on average), something the Cats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
