Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Academy Takes a Loss

Fayetteville Academy and Westminster Catawba Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fayetteville Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Westminster Catawba Christian Indians by a score of 43-40. The match was a 18-18 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Fayetteville Academy lost, don't look at Polly Miller. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points. Miller's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Fayetteville Academy's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11.

Fayetteville Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-12 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 15th.
