Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for New Glarus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poynette, New Glarus was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lake Mills L-Cats by a score of 10-6. That looming 10-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Glarner Knights yet this season.

Kamm Nehmer was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Ethan Colstad also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

New Glarus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

New Glarus' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Mills, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Glarus will host Wisconsin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Mills, they will welcome Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluejays will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the L-Cats surely won't give up without a fight.
