Baseball Recap: Nixon Takes a Loss

Nixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Martin Tigers, falling 17-6. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Orly Guzman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Salinas, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Nixon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Martin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season.

While Nixon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
