Eldorado had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-13 to make it four. They came up short against the Miles Bulldogs, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 21-9 defeat last Friday.
Eldorado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Belen Esparza, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Esparza has hit this season.
As for Miles, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
On Miles' side, Kambry Schniers made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Schniers has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Brooklynn Syler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ashlynn Matheny was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Eldorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miles, they will be playing at home against Roby at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
