Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Mid-Pacific Institute

On Wednesday, Mid-Pacific Institute faced Kailua in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mid-Pacific Institute Owls skirted past the Kailua Surfriders 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Owls have posted since January 23rd.

It was another big night for Logan Mason, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Darius Chizer, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Mid-Pacific Institute, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. As for Kailua, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
