Softball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Victorious

Metro-East Lutheran's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Cahokia Comanches get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Comanches recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Alexis Weber was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keira Fischer, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

Metro-East Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Metro-East Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Cahokia, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Metro-East Lutheran will challenge Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cahokia, they will host Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
