Basketball Recap: Southside Tigers vs. Powdersville Patriots
The Southside Tigers lost against the Powdersville Patriots back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southside took a 69-51 bruising from the Patriots. Despite the defeat, Southside saw an underclassman step up: Jaden Johnson scored 32 points along with three steals. That was a full 62.7% of Southside's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angerrelle Gomes-Ramsey, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Another player making a difference was Nick Sweet, who scored 16 points along with five assists and two steals.
Southside's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14. As for Powdersville, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside will take on the Fury at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Powdersville, they will head out on the road to take on the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wren knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully the Patriots like a good challenge.
