Volleyball Recap: Bethel Bison vs. South Kitsap Wolves
Bethel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the South Kitsap Wolves. The Bison were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
While Bethel ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22.
Leigha Hardesty paced Bethel's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hardesty got some help from Julianna Sullivan and her 30 assists. Hardesty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Carly Lyons was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 assists and seven digs. Those seven digs gave her a new career-high.
Bethel now has a losing record of 3-4. As for South Kitsap, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bethel will take on rival Olympia at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South Kitsap is set to face off against their familiar foe Spanaway Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
