Basketball Recap: North Buncombe Starts off Right with Win over Owen

North Buncombe took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They really took it to the Owen Warhorses for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-10 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-8.

Grace Parker had an outrageously good game as she went 6-for-8 en route to 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Those five assists gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Metcalf, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 9 points and five steals.

North Buncombe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

North Buncombe will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Owen, they will take on R-S Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
