Football Recap: Northern Garrett Huskies vs. Mountain Ridge Miners
If Northern Garrett was feeling good fresh off their 38-0 takedown of Uniontown last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies fell just short of the Mountain Ridge Miners by a score of 17-14 on Friday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Miners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
When it comes to explaining why Northern Garrett lost, don't look at Landon Yoder. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 100 yards while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Mountain Ridge found their leader in sophomore Jasper Crissman, who rushed for 85 yards and one TD.
Northern Garrett now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Mountain Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Garrett will face off against Allegany at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Williamsport at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
