Soccer Game Preview: The Palmdale Aerospace Academy vs. Saugus

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy Griffins will challenge the Saugus Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Vasquez with a sharp 3-0 win. The result kept the Griffins happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 27, 2024.

They hit Vasquez with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jesse Acevedo, Diego Mathias Cabrera, and Prestyn Elery.

Meanwhile, Saugus made easy work of Golden Valley on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. Given the Centurions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 445th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those six games. As for Saugus, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-4.

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Saugus in their previous matchup back in January of 2016. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point The Palmdale Aerospace Academy was down 3-0.
