Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Linden walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Union Mine Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on 15 straight.
Matthew Schallberger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Linden let Braden Busalacchi and Sebastian Trujillo run wild. Busalacchi went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Trujillo went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Trujillo a new career-high.
