Baseball Recap: Fort Morgan Comes Up Short

Fort Morgan blew Weld Central out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Weld Central got their revenge. The Mustangs fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 7-5.

JJ Marquez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit.

At the plate, Cooper Chisum was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Fort Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Weld Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
