Alex Cruz Game Report: vs Sharyland

On Tuesday Alex Cruz pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. The effort marked the fewest earned runs Cruz has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with less than one walk. This season, he has an ERA of 7.50 over 4.7 innings pitched.

Even though Cruz couldn't lead Vela over Sharyland, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sabercats will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 221 places lower in Texas), but they're not letting that get them down.
