Soccer Recap: Green Run Comes Up Short

Green Run lost against Ocean Lakes back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stallions came up short against the Dolphins, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Green Run can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Ocean Lakes are ranked 18th).

Green Run has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Ocean Lakes, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Run will host Hickory at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocean Lakes, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Granby at 6:00 p.m.
