Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Township Hawks vs. Southern Regional Rams

The Manchester Township Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Southern Regional Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern Regional took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Manchester Township, who comes in off a win.

Manchester Township is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 83-61 margin over Toms River South on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Southern Regional suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They lost 54-30 to Central Regional. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 29th).

Southern Regional's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Manchester Township, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.

Things could have been worse for Manchester Township, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-50 loss to Southern Regional in their previous matchup on January 7th. Can Manchester Township avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
