Baseball Recap: St. Clair Takes a Loss

St. Clair had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-12 to make it six. They lost 15-4 to the Anchor Bay Tars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Monday.

As for Anchor Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Anchor Bay's part, Mason Erikson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Erikson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Domey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Ludwig, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

While St. Clair had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
