Volleyball Recap: Victory Christian Falls to Encina in First Game of Season

Victory Christian had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Encina Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-12, 25-11.

Victory Christian's offense was headlined by Colt O'Neal and Max Moiseyenko, who picked up two kills apiece. O'Neal also shared the team's lead in assists with Daniel Grinic: they picked up two each.

Encina can attribute much of their success to Youssef Slekh, who had nine digs and two assists. That's the most digs Slekh has posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Encina, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Coming up, Victory Christian will square off against John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Encina and Forest Lake Christian will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
