Basketball Game Preview: Olney Cubs vs. Petrolia Pirates

Olney is 2-8 against Petrolia since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Olney Cubs will welcome the Petrolia Pirates at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Olney had to suffer through a 58-26 loss at the hands of Windthorst.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Petrolia). They enjoyed a cozy 60-41 victory over Electra on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Olney's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Petrolia, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-17.

Olney beat Petrolia 42-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Olney repeat their success, or does Petrolia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
