Softball Game Preview: Big Sandy Wildcats vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

Big Sandy is 0-4 against Martins Mill since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Big Sandy Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Martins Mill Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Big Sandy has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Big Sandy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Martins Mill on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 14-10 to the Mustangs. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Kimber Rushing made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. Maddie Freeman was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Martins Mill, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
