Baseball Recap: Scituate Spartans vs. Providence Country Day Knights
Scituate had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Providence Country Day Knights by a score of 4-1. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Travis Howman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Scituate is undefeated when Howman posts ten or more strikeouts, but 2-3 otherwise. Howman was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.
