Softball Recap: Suncoast Comes Up Short

Somerset Academy - Canyons hit Suncoast with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers came up short against the Cougars, falling 15-3. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Suncoast saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Williamson, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Valerie Buchanan also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Suncoast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Coming up, Suncoast will venture away from home to take on Pine Crest at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will challenge American Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
