Baseball Recap: Bronson Comes Up Short

Bronson and Chiefland squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Bronson had to settle for second. They lost 12-1 to the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Zach McClelland was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Bronson has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Chiefland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Bronson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chiefland, they will take on Williston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
