Softball Game Preview: South Walton Seahawks vs. Crestview Bulldogs

The South Walton Seahawks will head out to face off against the Crestview Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Walton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

South Walton came up short against North Bay Haven Academy on Thursday, falling 15-7.

Zoey Kreinus made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Raegan Rintala was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Crestview had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past Choctawhatchee 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 24th.

Julian Forrest made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Forrest wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Moriah Keith, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Another was Ava Secor, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Crestview's record is now 6-16. As for South Walton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

South Walton couldn't quite get it done against Crestview in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 9-6. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
