Basketball Game Preview: Norwayne Bobcats vs. Waynedale Golden Bears

Norwayne is a perfect 10-0 against Waynedale since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home court against the Golden Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Norwayne came up short against Canton Central Catholic and fell 70-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Despite their defeat, Norwayne saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brendan Hall, who went 8-for-11 en route to 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Hall has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Jaxson Gasser was another key player, shooting 60% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Waynedale didn't have quite enough to beat Dalton on Tuesday and fell 41-38. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Norwayne now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Waynedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything came up roses for Norwayne against Waynedale in their previous matchup back in February, as the team secured a 76-38 win. In that contest, the Bobcats amassed a halftime lead of 44-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
