Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Basha's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

It's playoff time, and Basha had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles 82-58 on Wednesday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Basha's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kingston Montague led the charge by shooting 47% from the field to rack up 23 points. That's the most points Montague has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lleyton Leonard, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards.

Basha smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Basha is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. ALA - Gilbert North moved to 19-7 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Basha didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-59 win against Deer Valley on the 21st. As for ALA - Gilbert North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-58 victory against Saguaro on the 26th.
