Basketball Recap: Maplewood Skates Past Windham with Ease

Maplewood won the last time they faced Windham and things went their way on Thursday too. The Maplewood Rockets breezed by the Windham Bombers to the tune of 54-27. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Maplewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Himes, who went 6 for 12 en route to 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Himes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliah Brumit, who posted 15 points and four steals.

The win was the third in a row for Maplewood, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Windham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Maplewood has already played their next game, a 58-22 victory against Chalker on the 18th. As for Windham, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-11 loss against Mogadore on the 18th.
