Soccer Game Preview: Coldwater vs. Chelsea

The Coldwater Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Chelsea Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coldwater is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Coldwater's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Gull Lake by a score of 2-0. Given Coldwater's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Gull Lake are ranked 217th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Chelsea was forced to settle for a draw. They and Ypsilanti finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Monday.

Chelsea's draw gives them a new season record of 10-4-1. As for Coldwater, their win bumped their record up to 11-4-2.

Coldwater beat Chelsea 2-0 in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
