Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Wins Going Away Against Chapman

After losing to Chapman the last time they met, St. Mary's Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The St. Mary's Academy Crusaders strolled past the Chapman Irish with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-40. That 16 point margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

Several Irish players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brecken Francis, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Francis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Van Meter, who earned four points.

St. Mary's Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Chapman, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

St. Mary's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-39 victory against Royal Valley on the 25th. Chapman has also already played their next matchup, a 66-30 defeat against Santa Fe Trail on the 25th.
