East Stroudsburg North was handed a 15-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past Notre Dame 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
East Stroudsburg North let Owen Peckally and Chris Roman-Whittaker run wild. Peckally scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Roman-Whittaker went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Jason Hojnacki also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Northampton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 8-1 to Easton Area. The Konkrete Kids have struggled against the Rovers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Northampton also got a good showing from Brandon McEntire, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Erick Castro was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
The victory got East Stroudsburg North back to even at 2-2. As for Northampton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Stroudsburg North has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northampton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
