Football Recap: Olympic Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cox Mill + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Olympic). They put the hurt on the Cox Mill Chargers with a sharp 35-14 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Bryce Nixon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 201 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries. Chance Cato was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Olympic's run defense was locked in: Cox Mill could only muster zero yards per carry. While three picked up at least three total tackles, Nixon stood above the rest. He rushed for 201 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Olympic didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 12.6.

Cox Mill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sione Latimore, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD. The Chargers also got help from Gavin Ramirez, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

The win got Olympic back to even at 2-2. As for Cox Mill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olympic will square off against Central Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cox Mill, they will venture away from home to take on Harding University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
