Senatobia is 8-2 against Independence since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Senatobia Warriors will face off against the Independence Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Senatobia is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering South Pontotoc just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Independence played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Coahoma County, falling 41-21. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Independence's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Senatobia, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Senatobia was able to grind out a solid victory over Independence when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 32-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Senatobia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
