Normandy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Laurel on Wednesday. The Invaders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gators. That's more bragging rights for the Invaders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Normandy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-19.

Ariana Valentin Rivera paced Normandy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Valentin Rivera got some help from Adriana Shelley and her 16 assists. Jessica Chuba controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Normandy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Normandy will venture away from home to challenge Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Cleveland Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
