Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Christian Wolverines vs. Evergreen Lutheran Eagles

Northwest Christian is a perfect 3-0 against Evergreen Lutheran since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolverines will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Neither Northwest Christian nor Evergreen Lutheran posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Northwest Christian is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Crosspoint Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Northwest Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Meier, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Meier is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Evergreen Lutheran's offense. They came up short against Clover Park on Friday, falling 15-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Evergreen Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Northwest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Northwest Christian took their victory against Evergreen Lutheran in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
