Softball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Triumphs

Mt. Pleasant won against Yough last Monday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Uniontown Red Raiders by a score of 9-5. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won five in a row.

Danica Trainer 2027 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Layla Gratzinger 2028 was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Ella Alakson 2025 was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Mt. Pleasant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mt. Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Uniontown, they dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Mt. Pleasant will square off against Franklin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Uniontown has already played their next match (against Charleroi), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
