Softball Recap: Brownsburg Finds Playoff Glory Versus Ben Davis

It's playoff time, and Brownsburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Ben Davis Giants 11-1 on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Etta Schroering looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ag (Ava) Pogue, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Paddock, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Brownsburg has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Ben Davis, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Looking ahead, Brownsburg will take on Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Quakers will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Ben Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
