Baseball Recap: Mount Union's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

If Mount Union was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Southern Huntingdon County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Southern Fulton Indians by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Davin Yocum was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mount Union saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Weirich, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
